Commission 012 went back to the gravel stage for its second shakedown this week — 200 kilometres of Welsh forestry track, two damper revisions, and one very muddy photographer.

What we changed

The first 200 kilometres showed high-speed compression running out of travel over crests. We revalved the rear Bilsteins, added five millimetres of bump rubber, and softened the front bar one hole. The car now lands flat where it used to skip sideways.

Every Safari build leaves with 500 shakedown kilometres in the logbook. Kilometres 201 through 400 are booked for next month — reservoir crossing included.
